10:00 am (selected weeks)
|Nemo: This class introduces children to water and swimming. The class encourages children to swim (dogpaddle unaided with face in the water), breathe and be comfortable submerging and floating on their backs. The first day may be spent in the kiddie pool, depending on comfort of kids. Great for beginner swimmers. Must be potty-trained for the big pool.|
|Squirt: This is a great class for kids who are comfortable in the water but need to practice swimming. Kids will learn to enter the water independently, feel comfortable exploring the shallow end unassisted, jump into the pool with assistance, paddle with hands, hold the kickboard and swim independently, float on back with minimal assistance, and instruction to front crawl hands and leg movements. Suggested ages 4 and up.|
|3||6-7||1:00 pm||Crush: This class is for kids who are growing swimmers and want to learn and practice technique. Kids will learn to tread water for 1 minute, float and kick on back, jump into pool unassisted, front crawl with rotary breathing for 1 pool length, breaststroke arm movements, frog kick with kickboard, and back crawl arm movements. Suggested ages 6 and up.|
|4||7+||1:30 pm||Shark: This class is for advanced swimmers. Kids will practice front crawl with rotary breathing and stroke proficiency, back crawl, breaststroke, elementary backstroke, swimming underwater for 20 feet, swim 200 feet without stopping, and tread water for 3 minutes. Recommended age: 7 and up.|
|5||9+||2:00 pm||Torpedo: This class is for our most advanced swimmers who have completed Level 4. This class will teach and practice 4 strokes - the front crawl, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly - as well as dolphin kick, bi-lateral breathing, entry dives and kick turns. The class will also focus on endurance, strength and extended swimming techniques. The goal of this class is to have each student swimming 100m medley by the end of the group.|
